My counselling approach is grounded in the constructivist psychotherapy tradition. This means that in our sessions together we will focus on your life experiences in order to help you make meaning out of even the most difficult circumstances. Together we will work towards helping you reorganize and reconstruct your reality in a way that will help you with your own identity, your relationships, and your routines of every day life. I believe that each person is the expert on their own experience and we all possess an amazing capacity for personal growth and change. Through empathy, active listening, and non-directive questioning, I will help you to harness your natural strengths and discover new ways to interact with yourself and others in order to improve your circumstances.
I hold a Master's Degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of Toronto. I have been working as a counsellor for over 10 years in private practice as well as various health care settings. I have advanced training in grief and loss, attachment, couples therapy and parenting and I regularly attend professional development events to refresh and enhance my skills. It would be my pleasure to put my skills and experience to work for you as we work together to produce meaningful change in your life.
